Fine Meal for $2.85

Kelsey got a gift certificate for a top french restaurant in SLC. We checked out the prices for a meal and it averages about $50 a plate. We figured if we shared a plate, we could come out with a pretty good deal.

We went to La Caille last night and experienced some fine dining. First of all we had valet parking when we arrived. Then we were seated to a dining room all to ourselves to start out with (I got a seat right next to the fireplace too!). We were first served fresh bread and cracker bread with butter shaped like roses. We passed on the hors-d' ouevres and went straight the the main course. Kelsey and I shared a butter lettuce salad with apples and walnuts. Then we shared Poulet Picatta Pomodoro, a lightly pounded chicken breast sauteed with chateau la caille , garlic, caperberry, and sun-dried tomatoes. It was so delicious we were sure to take the time to savor every bite. I think I was worried the whole time if I was using the right silverware and ettiquite.

We were tempted to get a dessert, but at $16 a pop we thought we would hold off. When we got the bill, the dinner ended up costing us only $2.85 with the $50 giftcard Kelsey brought. So with paying for a tip and valet parking, we came out with this meal from an award winning restaurant for about $6 each. What a steal! I would give La Caille 2 thumbs up and recommend it to anyone with a big pocket book.

Here are some pictures from the restaurant:
This was a stairway out on the top patio. I can only imagine how many weddings they have at this restaurant. There are several ponds with swans swimming in them as well as beautiful vineyards on the property. The restaurant is at the base of a canyon here in Utah.
Here I am with the restaurant in the background. You can get a little taste of the scenery.
This is Kelsey and I after our big meal. We were pretty stuffed even from sharing a dish.

And this was the main course when it came out. The plate was wiped clean when I was done with it!
